Our Story

🧩 Charis Pafitis – Physiotherapist & Business Developer

Co-founder of PhysioEverywhere, HCPC-registered physiotherapist, lifelong athlete, and someone who believes that everyone deserves expert physiotherapy, no matter where they are.

💡 From Customer Service to Clinical Care

My journey began far from the treatment room — working in my family’s restaurant from a young age, I developed strong people skills and a passion for service. This early exposure to real-life interactions shaped my ability to truly listen, understand, and connect.

After serving in the army and building resilience and discipline, I pursued a degree in Information Systems and Business Planning in Greece. Later, I moved to the UK where I worked full-time as a barman in a 4-star hotel — all while learning English — before completing my MBA at Brunel University.

I then stepped into the world of education and consultancy, starting as an administrator and rising to consultant level for the British Council's exam department. Simultaneously, I joined a private education company where I helped grow the team from 5 to over 540 employees in just 5 years, working as a business developer and strategic partner.

🧠 A Shift in Purpose

During the pandemic, everything changed. A close family member’s declining health — combined with time to pause and reflect — made me re-evaluate what truly mattered. For the first time in years, I stepped back from chasing career milestones and began thinking deeply about purpose and fulfilment.

Physiotherapy had always been quietly present in my life. I grew up as a competitive gymnast for 9 years, a national-level judo athlete, and a sprinter in the 100m and 200m hurdles — and I was fortunate to be supported by incredible professionals who helped me recover and prevent injury. From the age of four, I was surrounded by physiotherapists and osteopaths. Looking back, I realised their impact had never truly left me.

That’s when it clicked: this was my path — a career where I could combine movement, science, and a deep desire to help people regain control of their bodies and lives.

🎓 The Journey Into Physiotherapy

After passing key science exams in anatomy, physiology, and maths, I enrolled at the University of East London (UEL) and graduated with a First-Class BSc in Physiotherapy.

During my clinical placements, I gained valuable experience across a range of settings — including intensive care units, elderly care, community rehabilitation, and musculoskeletal outpatients. It quickly became clear that my passion lay in MSK physiotherapy. Instead of following the traditional NHS rotation route, I made the bold decision to specialise in MSK outpatients from day one.

Since then, I’ve led ESCAPE-pain programmes for hip, knee, and back osteoarthritis, delivered group rehabilitation, and developed a strong foundation in reconditioning and injury prevention, particularly for older adults. Working in both NHS and private settings, I’ve seen how physiotherapy can profoundly enhance quality of life — not just through pain relief, but by restoring movement, confidence, and independence.

To deepen my expertise, I’ve completed over 40 postgraduate courses, including hands-on training with world-renowned clinicians like Dr. Kristian Thorborg, Dr. Alison Grimaldi, and Jo Gibson.

🌍 Physio, Everywhere

I’ve always loved exercise — whether it was training from a young age in Cyprus, sprinting on the track, or squeezing in workouts in hotel gyms across Australia, the USA, and Europe. Movement has always been a constant in my life — a source of strength, clarity, and connection.

Through my NHS work, I also discovered a deeper love for preventive care — and met incredible physiotherapists who shared my values: compassionate, skilled, and truly committed to making every patient interaction count. Many of them have since joined our growing team.

Physiotherapy isn’t just a job for me — it’s a way of giving back. A way to share the lifelong benefits of movement and recovery with others, no matter where they are.

That’s why I co-founded PhysioEverywhere with my close friend Savvas — a platform designed to make expert physiotherapy accessible from the comfort of your home, and to help physiotherapists reach more people in need.

We're more than a clinic — we’re a global movement, empowering both clients and clinicians with evidence-based, compassionate, and location-free care.

💼 Savvas Savva – Co-Founder & Technology Lead

🧪 Born and raised in Cyprus, Savvas has always been passionate about technology, science, and living an active lifestyle. He studied Electrical and Computer Engineering in Greece, where he met his close friend and future co-founder, Charis Pafitis — now a practicing physiotherapist.

🏃‍♂️ A keen runner and advocate of staying physically active, Savvas knows firsthand the importance of movement for well-being—even as his career has taken him into the world of technology and telecoms.

📡 After several years working for leading telecom companies in Cyprus and launching a business in renewable energy, Savvas relocated to the Netherlands in 2017. There, he continues to design and manage complex telecom systems as a senior network engineer.

🖥️ During the COVID-19 pandemic, Savvas personally experienced how difficult it can be to access specialist care when he developed back pain and couldn’t see a doctor in person. Turning to Charis for a video consultation and online rehab support, he was able to recover and return to his active lifestyle. This experience gave him powerful insight into how effective, empowering, and accessible online physiotherapy can be.

🌍 Motivated by both personal experience and a belief that technology should break down barriers to better health, Savvas co-founded PhysioEverywhere with Charis. Their mission is to make expert physiotherapy accessible to everyone—no matter where they are—by combining clinical excellence with user-friendly digital tools.

🔧 As Technology Lead, Savvas brings his expertise in automation, connectivity, and design to create seamless rehabilitation experiences that fit into everyday life.

💡 He believes technology should empower people and strives to make every solution simple, secure, and effective — so everyone can move, feel, and live better.
